Roadworthiness inspection

Every vehicle on Eswatini’s roads must be roadworthy

A Certificate of Roadworthiness confirms that your vehicle meets the road-safety standards of the Kingdom of Eswatini. The certificate is issued at an authorised testing centre after a periodic mechanical inspection, and is required to operate any motor vehicle on public roads. The QR code on each certificate lets a police officer or any member of the public verify it on the spot.

Issued under Section 117 of the Road Traffic Law 1965 (as Amended), which requires periodic inspection of motor vehicles by authorised examiners at licensed testing centres.
